Joni and Friends Golf Invitational

Joni and Friends is a global non-profit dedicated to serving individuals and families impacted by disability, providing essential resources and practical support worldwide. Since 1979, Joni and Friends has reached over 80,000 families and distributed more than 227,000 wheelchairs and Bibles through its renowned Wheels For the World® program.


Each September, the New England chapter hosts its annual Golf Invitational at the exclusive Renaissance Golf Club—one of the organization’s premier fundraising events. For the 5th annual Invitational, Joni and Friends set ambitious goals: to expand its reach, deepen donor engagement, and significantly increase the event’s financial impact.


We reimagined the donor journey, creating meaningful touchpoints. The experience began the moment a donor registered, with a thoughtfully designed invitation suite and a compelling call to action to help spread awareness. In the weeks leading up to the event, registered golfers received a  pre-event gift providing a memorable “unboxing” experience, reinforcing the exclusivity of the event and the powerful impact each participant could make.


Deliverables included: A cohesive invitation suite, strategic mapping of the donor journey with new touchpoints, exclusive pre-event gift, and event merchandise and activities. 

 

The Results
This holistic approach to donor engagement resulted in a 38% increase in golfer registrations and a 47% increase in giving.
