JET BLACK

sewing  |  hand dyeing  |  patterning  |  piecing

Four shirts pieced together from dyed rayon, silk, and cotton. All fabrics were dyed with the same black using various techniques such as degumming, ombre dying, and resist dying. Transparencies and layering enhance how different each material takes color.

These dynamic tops highlight different weights of fabrics and utilizes the beauty and precision that can be achieved through hand dyeing.
